Recently I have been really trying to push myself to try new things when it comes to my digital work. I have a bad habit of quitting too early because when it doesn’t look good, I get discouraged very fast and stop completely. This gets me no where in the end because I fall back into doing things I know how to do and it doesn’t look any different. I have an image in my mind on how I want my digital work to look like, its just hard to get there because I have to learn new things, and unlearn some old things. I’ve been watching video tutorials for techniques and tips for Procreate(the app I use on my iPad) which have been helping because its a bunch of little things that really do end up changing the looks of the overall piece when its done. I’ve also been trying out new brushes to figure out what looks best and how I want to utilize them for my vision. For this piece, I tried using different brushes for softer lines and tried shading differently compared to my other work. Its not done yet, but I’m really just trying to step out of my comfort zone for my newer stuff to get better and hone my skills faster when it comes to digital work.
